S. 528 — GLRI Act of 2025

This section reauthorizes the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative through FY2031 (from FY2026) by authorizing $500 million for each of fiscal years 2027 through 2031. The initiative directs EPA's Great Lakes National Program Office to restore the Great Lakes System—consistent with the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement—through activities such as toxic pollutant remediation in areas of concern, lakewide management plans, and grants to Great Lakes states.
