S. 547 — Train More Nurses Act

This section directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Labor, jointly, to conduct a review of all grant programs carried out by either department that support the nurse workforce. Not later than one year after enactment, the secretaries must submit to Congress a report on the review that includes recommendations for changes to such programs to better achieve the goals of (1) increasing nurse faculty, particularly in underserved areas; (2) providing pathways for nurses with more than 10 years of clinical experience to become faculty at schools of nursing; and (3) encouraging and increasing the nursing pipeline through pathways for licensed practical nurses to become registered nurses.
