S. 606 — Contaminated Wells Relocation Act

This section authorizes the NASA Administrator, notwithstanding any other provision of law, to enter into an agreement with the Town of Chincoteague, Virginia, for up to five years to reimburse costs directly associated with (1) developing a plan to remove three drinking water wells on NASA-administered property and (2) establishing alternative wells on town-controlled property (through lease, ownership, or easement). The agreement must include, to the extent practicable, provisions for the wells' removal and relocation, a description of the new site, and a current estimated cost (including for property acquisition or use, engineering, design, permitting, and construction); NASA must submit the agreement to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology within 18 months of enactment.
