S. 673 — Miccosukee Reserved Area Amendments Act

This section expands the definition of Miccosukee Reserved Area (MRA) under the Miccosukee Reserved Area Act to include, in addition to lands previously described, the portion of Everglades National Park known as Osceola Camp, as depicted on the map entitled “Everglades National Park, Proposed Expansion–Miccosukee Reserved Area, Osceola Camp,” numbered 160/188443, and dated July 2023. Copies of the map are to be kept available for public inspection in National Park Service offices and filed with appropriate officers of Miami-Dade County and the Miccosukee Tribe.

This section directs the Secretary of the Interior, in consultation with the Miccosukee Indian Tribe, to take appropriate actions to protect structures within Osceola Camp (i.e., the area described in section 4(4)(C) of the Miccosukee Reserved Area Act) from flooding not later than two years after the date of enactment.
