S. 746 — Defund NPR Act

This section prohibits federal funds from being made available to or used to support National Public Radio (NPR) or any successor organization, directly or indirectly—including through dues payments or programming purchases by public broadcast stations using federal funds—after the date of enactment of this Act. It also makes conforming amendments to the Communications Act of 1934 by striking references to "National Public Radio" in specified provisions related to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's grants and other authorizations. (Thus, NPR, which produces and distributes public radio news and programming to over 1,000 affiliate stations, will no longer receive indirect federal support via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.)
