S. 807 — Guarding Readiness Resources Act

This section establishes requirements for funds received by the National Guard Bureau from a state, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, Guam, or the Virgin Islands as reimbursement under this section (i.e., 32 U.S.C. §710, governing federal military property issued to the National Guard) for the use of such property. Those funds (1) shall be credited to the appropriation, fund, or account used to incur the obligation or an appropriate currently available account for the same purposes; and (2) may only be used by the Department of Defense for repair, maintenance, replacement, or similar functions related to assets used by National Guard units operating under state active duty status. (Thus, such reimbursements—previously subject to deposit in the Treasury under subsection (d) for property loss, damage, or destruction—may now be retained by DoD for specified National Guard purposes.)
