S. 830 — Lifespan Respite Care Reauthorization Act of 2025

This section (1) revises the definition of family caregiver under the Lifespan Respite Care Program to include an unpaid family member, foster parent, or another unpaid individual (from unpaid adult) who provides in-home monitoring, management, supervision, or treatment of a child or adult with a special need; and (2) reauthorizes funding for the program through FY2030 (from FY2024). (The Lifespan Respite Care Program provides grants to eligible state agencies to develop or enhance statewide systems that coordinate respite care services—i.e., planned or emergency temporary relief—for family caregivers of children and adults with special needs.)
