S. 862 — HBOT Access Act of 2025

This section states congressional findings on veteran suicide, including a rate of 18 per day and elevated risk relative to the general population; the need for federal, state, and local support; veterans' entitlement to the freedoms they fought for overseas; the Department of Veterans Affairs' obligation to consider non-pharmaceutical, non-opioid, non-invasive treatments for traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder; and the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for such symptoms, which should be accessible to veterans at high risk of suicide or self-harm.

This section establishes authority for the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to furnish hyperbaric oxygen therapy to veterans with traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress disorder who have used at least two evidence-based treatment options for the condition.
