This section expresses the sense of the Senate regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina by (1) reaffirming the U.S.-EU commitment to promote and protect human rights, democracy, and the rule of law; (2) commending the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their commitment to peace and cooperation 30 years after the Dayton Peace Accords; (3) noting the government's efforts toward NATO and EU membership, including constitutional, governance, economic, rule of law, and judicial reforms; (4) reiterating the importance of the Dayton Peace Accords as the basis for constitutional reform and EU accession requirements; (5) urging the government to pursue constitutional reforms to reconcile the past and build a common future across ethnic and religious lines and to uphold the tripartite presidency and key institutions; (6) urging the U.S. government to maintain support for the Office of the High Representative until a unanimous decision by the Peace Implementation Council otherwise and to support implementation of EU Stabilisation and Association Agreements with Balkan states; (7) encouraging regional cooperation to combat malign foreign influence from Russia and China; (8) recognizing the State of Ohio and Dayton community for their roles in the Dayton Peace Accords and ongoing support for diplomacy, security, and peace; and (9) acknowledging contributions of the Bosnian-American diaspora.
