S.J.Res. 6 — A joint resolution directing the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities in Syria that have not been authorized by Congress.

This section invokes expedited congressional procedures under section 1013 of the Department of State Authorization Act of 1984 (50 U.S.C. 1546a)—which apply to resolutions requiring removal of U.S. Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities—to direct the President to remove all such forces from hostilities in or affecting Syria by not later than 30 days after adoption of this joint resolution. The directive does not apply if the President requests and Congress authorizes a later date or if Congress enacts a declaration of war or specific statutory authorization for the mission.
