S.Res. 118 — A resolution designating March 6, 2025, as "National Slam the Scam Day" to raise awareness about pervasive scams and to promote education to prevent government imposter scams and other types of scams.

This section designates March 6, 2025, as National Slam the Scam Day to raise awareness of government imposter scams (i.e., scams involving individuals impersonating government employees via mail, telephone, text message, electronic mail, social media, or internet websites). It (1) recognizes the roles of law enforcement agencies, consumer protection groups, telephone companies, area agencies on aging, and financial institutions in preventing such scams and educating the public; (2) encourages policies, programs, and measures to prevent scams and protect the public; (3) urges the public to ignore suspicious solicitations, share information with family and friends, and report scams to the relevant agency Office of the Inspector General (e.g., Social Security Administration), the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, or the Federal Trade Commission; and (4) honors individuals and organizations combating such scams.
