S.Res. 133 — A resolution expressing support for the local public K-12 schools of the United States and condemning any actions that would defund public education or weaken or dismantle the Department of Education.

This section expresses the sense of the Senate that (1) the federal government strongly supports investment in public K–12 schools and the students and families served by such schools; (2) the Department of Education plays a vital role in the U.S. public education system; (3) federal investment is important to public school success and should not be diverted—including through vouchers—to privately-run K–12 schools; and (4) executive or legislative actions that dismantle or relocate major Department of Education offices or the Department itself, reduce federal funding for public education, block major federal education grant programs, or transfer education funding burdens to state and local governments are condemned.
