S.Res. 156 — A resolution commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act.

This section adopts a Senate resolution that (1) recognizes January 4, 2025, as the 50th anniversary of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA); (2) commemorates achievements by Indian Tribes under ISDEAA and parallel federal authorities; (3) reaffirms ISDEAA's role in enhancing Tribal well-being, promoting Tribal stability and prosperity, and respecting Tribal sovereignty; (4) calls on the federal government to fully implement ISDEAA and related authorities; (5) reaffirms the U.S. fiduciary obligation to support Tribal self-determination and self-governance; (6) recommits to the federal trust responsibility to Native people; (7) declares commitment to assist Tribes in administering federal programs; and (8) celebrates 50 years of Tribal successes under ISDEAA.
