This section expresses the sense of the Senate supporting the goals and ideals of World Malaria Day; recognizing the U.S. national interest in fighting malaria, the importance of reducing its prevalence and deaths to improve maternal and child health, and progress made through the President's Malaria Initiative and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; endorsing a reduction in malaria case incidence and mortality rates by not less than 90% by 2030; commending endemic countries' efforts toward local ownership and self-sufficiency in malaria programs; welcoming public-private partnerships for more effective malaria tools; and encouraging continued U.S. leadership through bilateral, multilateral, and private sector efforts.
