S.Res. 239 — A resolution reaffirming the deep and steadfast partnership between the United States and Canada and the ties that bind the 2 countries in support of economic and national security.

This section expresses the sense of the Senate recognizing (1) the U.S.-Canada relationship as an essential strategic asset critical to peace, economic opportunity, and emergency response; (2) full commitment to maintaining and growing the partnership; (3) the interdependence of U.S. and Canadian security, with support for greater collaboration on defense, cyber and technology security, and Arctic security; (4) commitment to bilateral and international alliances upholding democracy, human rights, and the rule of law; (5) the strategic importance of their secure shared border for trade and supply chains; (6) the benefits of bolstering bilateral supply chains against economic aggression; (7) increased focus on energy security via cross-border infrastructure for oil, natural gas, nuclear, renewables, electricity transmission, and critical minerals; and (8) commitment to creating more well-paying U.S. jobs through continued trade and investment with Canada.
