This section designates May 2025 as National Wildfire Preparedness Month, encourages increased awareness of and preparedness for wildfires and suppression efforts at Federal, State, local, and Tribal levels of government—including Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities—and by nongovernmental organizations and communities, and supports resources and educational initiatives promoting wildfire prevention measures (e.g., home hardening, land management to reduce flammable vegetation, early warning systems, reduced human ignitions, smoke mitigation, and safe evacuations).
