S.Res. 311 — A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate that the Parliamentarian of the Senate should serve not more than 1 term of 6 years.

This section states the sense of the Senate that (1) the Parliamentarian serves at the pleasure of the Secretary of the Senate, who is chosen by the majority leader; (2) historical precedent allows the Secretary to dismiss the Parliamentarian; (3) the Senate remains committed to using the reconciliation process to remove waste, fraud, and abuse from mandatory spending programs; and (4) the Parliamentarian should serve not more than one 6-year term.
