Trump and NATO leadership on a new commitment to defense investment and commending the Alliance for its renewed focus on collective defense; (2) lauding NATO members who spent more than 2% of their GDP on defense prior to the Hague Summit; (3) strongly urging NATO leadership to compel members to adhere to the 5% GDP commitment to defense spending; (4) calling on all NATO allies to ensure non-traditional defense expenditures are aligned with legitimate defense objectives; and (5) reaffirming the importance of NATO and the U.S. Senate's commitment to a strong, capable, and united Alliance.
