S.Res. 376 — A resolution recognizing suicide as a serious public health problem, expressing support for the designation of September 8, 2025, as "988 Day" and the role of 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

This section expresses the sense of the Senate that (1) September 8, 2025, be designated as 988 Day; (2) suicide is a serious and growing public health concern; (3) the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline—a national three-digit dialing code connecting callers to mental health crisis counselors—is a critical component of the national mental health safety net; (4) public education and outreach on the 988 Lifeline should continue, particularly for high-risk populations; (5) Federal, State, and local efforts to expand mental health services and crisis intervention programs should be supported; and (6) the goals and ideals of 988 Day should be supported to recognize the Lifeline's role in saving lives.
