This section expresses the sense of the Senate in support of designating National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. It declares that steps should be taken (1) to raise awareness about the importance of screening methods for, and treatment of, prostate cancer; (2) to encourage research to improve screening and treatment, discover causes, and develop a cure; and (3) to improve access to, and quality of, health care services for detecting and treating prostate cancer. It calls on the people of the United States, interest groups, and affected persons to promote awareness of prostate cancer, take an active role in fighting its effects on individuals, families, and the economy, and observe the month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
