S.Res. 449 — A resolution designating the week beginning on October 12, 2025, as "National Wildlife Refuge Week".

This section designates the week beginning October 12, 2025, as National Wildlife Refuge Week; encourages its observance with appropriate events and activities; and recognizes (1) the importance of national wildlife refuges to wildlife conservation, imperiled species and ecosystems, wildlife-dependent recreation, local economies, wildlife observation and photography traditions, and environmental education; (2) their role in securing the U.S. hunting and fishing heritage; (3) the contributions of urban wildlife refuges to diverse communities through conservation coalitions, youth opportunities, community improvement, government trust-building, and nature connections; (4) the National Wildlife Refuge System's commitments to Tribal, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian engagement and co-stewardship; (5) their role in conserving waterfowl and habitat under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act; and (6) the Senate's support for wildlife conservation and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service management of the refuge system for future generations.
