S.Res. 511 — A resolution supporting the goals and principles of Transgender Day of Remembrance by recognizing the epidemic of violence toward transgender people and memorializing the lives lost this year.

This section expresses the sense of the Senate supporting the goals and principles of Transgender Day of Remembrance by (1) recognizing the epidemic of violence toward transgender people and memorializing lives lost; (2) deeming unacceptable the increased violence against transgender people in the United States, particularly transgender women of color, and prioritizing solutions; (3) supporting efforts to study, respond to, and prevent such violence; (4) affirming that every person is endowed with basic human rights; (5) recognizing the bravery and resilience of the transgender community; and (6) recognizing the transgender community's contributions and cultural impact on U.S. society.
