This section designates November 2025 as American Diabetes Month and supports its goals and ideals, including (1) encouraging public awareness of diabetes prevention and treatment options; (2) enhancing diabetes education; (3) recognizing the importance of early detection, including risk factors such as being older than 45 years of age or overweight, or having a particular racial or ethnic background, low physical activity, high blood pressure, family history of diabetes, or gestational diabetes history; (4) supporting decreases in type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes prevalence through research, treatment, and prevention; and (5) addressing health care barriers that heighten diabetes risk in certain communities and limit access to prevention and management resources.
