S.Res. 597 — A resolution providing for the authority to initiate litigation for actions by the President and Department of Justice officials inconsistent with their duties under the laws of the United States.

This section directs the Senate Majority Leader to (1) initiate or intervene in one or more civil actions in federal court against the Department of Justice for failing to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act (Public Law 119-38); (2) notify the Senate upon doing so; and (3) designate the Office of Senate Legal Counsel or other counsel—following consultation with the Minority Leader—to represent the Senate in such actions, with authority to expend miscellaneous line item appropriations for that representation.
