S.Res. 62 — An original resolution authorizing expenditures by the Special Committee on Aging.

This section authorizes the Special Committee on Aging, from March 1, 2025, through February 28, 2027, to (1) make expenditures from the contingent fund of the Senate; (2) employ personnel; and (3) with prior consent of the relevant government department or agency and the Committee on Rules and Administration, use on a reimbursable or nonreimbursable basis the services of personnel of any such department or agency.

This section establishes expense limitations for the committee under 2 U.S.C. 4301 as follows: (1) for the period March 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025, not to exceed $2,060,695, of which not more than $1,500 may be used for consultants (per 2 U.S.C. 4301(i)) and $1,500 for professional staff training (per 2 U.S.C. 4301(j)); (2) for the period October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, not to exceed $3,532,620, with the same sublimits; and (3) for the period October 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027, not to exceed $1,471,925, with the same sublimits.

This section authorizes expenses of the committee to be paid from the Senate's contingent fund upon vouchers approved by the chairman (except for routine payments such as employee salaries, telecommunications, stationery, postage, copying, recording services, and franked mail, which do not require vouchers). The section further authorizes necessary agency contributions (i.e., for federal employee benefits) related to committee employee compensation from the Senate's Expenses of Inquiries and Investigations account for the periods March 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025; October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026; and October 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027.
