S.Res. 675 — A resolution supporting the designation of the week of April 11 through April 17, 2026, as "Black Maternal Health Week", founded by Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Inc., to bring national attention to the maternal and reproductive health crisis in the United States and the importance of reducing maternal mortality and morbidity among Black women and birthing people.

This section states the sense of the Senate recognizing the disproportionate maternal mortality and morbidity rates among Black women, deems them unacceptable, and identifies needs to mitigate systemic racism including safe housing, transportation equity, nutritious food, clean environments, decriminalization in family regulation, freedom from violence, living wages, economic opportunity, diverse perinatal workforce pipelines, and comprehensive health care. It further recognizes the need for Congress to support human rights-based policies to end maternal health disparities, involve Black women in policymaking, pass related legislation, and use Black Maternal Health Week to advance community-driven solutions, amplify Black-led efforts, and increase funding for relevant organizations.
