S.Res. 687 — A resolution supporting the designation of the week of April 27 through May 1, 2026, as "National Specialized Instructional Support Personnel Appreciation Week".

This section expresses the sense of the Senate that (1) April 27 through May 1, 2026, be designated as “National Specialized Instructional Support Personnel Appreciation Week” (i.e., school counselors, psychologists, social workers, and related non-teaching staff); (2) such personnel implement evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes; (3) such personnel and their supporters be commended; (4) Federal, State, and local policymakers raise awareness of their importance to school climate and education; (5) such personnel play a key role in improving student mental health, reducing drug use, and enhancing community safety; and (6) experts share best practices for replication.
