This section expresses the sense of the Senate that (1) the United States must protect the U.S. dollar as the world's reserve currency and maintain its role in the global financial system; (2) efforts by the People's Republic of China to undermine the dollar's status must be monitored and countered; (3) the United States must strengthen economic ties with critical world regions as an alternative to Chinese capital; and (4) the United States must work with allies to promote economic policies ensuring growth and stability in developing countries.
