S.Res. 81 — A resolution calling on the United Kingdom, France, and Germany (E3) to initiate the snapback of sanctions on Iran under United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015).

This section expresses the sense of the Senate that (1) Iran’s possession of a nuclear weapon would threaten U.S. and global security, including allies and partners in Europe and the Middle East; (2) the Government of Iran has violated commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and obligations under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 (UNSCR 2231); (3) Russia and China, as JCPOA participants, support Iran’s malign activities; (4) the United States may take necessary measures to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons; (5) robust sanctions should be imposed and enforced on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs and related entities and individuals; and (6) the E3 (France, Germany, and United Kingdom) should invoke snapback UN sanctions under UNSCR 2231 before October 18, 2025.
